What will I be doing?
The content of the work will vary slightly depending on the course you choose, but the fundamentals will be the same. As a Pais apprentice you are given the priviledge of empowering young people to live full and abundant lives. This is done through teaching, mentoring, lunch clubs, workshops and most of all: the building of life-changing relationships. You will be working as part of a team that serves the local community and schools, aiming to bridge the gap between them and the local church. Click here to read about M4 and find out about some of the ways you will intentionally be making missionaries!

What training will be provided?

Foundational Training
lasts for 3 weeks at the start of the year and will inspire and equip you for the year ahead. You can expect 3 full weeks of passionate worship, inspirational teaching and fun socials.
Team Training  happens on a weekly basis.
Refreshers Training  is a one-off, 3-day time of sharing, training, ministry and socials.
Swap  is another 3-day conference where teams come together for more teaching and a chance to share ministry ideas with each other.
Lead  is a 5-day conference for Pais interns who are invited to lead teams the following year. They will be taken through an excellent course of teaching on leadership and team development.

When will I be working?
During the day and some evenings you will work within a team, then at the weekend you will work with a partnered church. Your hours will typically be 8:00am - 4:00pm monday-friday plus attending and helping some evenings. Saturdays is generally your day off. You are required to attend the main church services and the main midweek/youth meeting and are expected to get fully involved in the life of the church.

Most apprenticeships start in August but in some cases their are intakes at other times in the year. To ask questions about this or any other aspect of the apprenticeship please email applications@paisproject.com

Where will I live?
You will stay with a host family that attends the church you will be working with. There are some exceptions with this in certain special cases. You will usually have your own room and are seen as a lodger, although often you will find that you become part of the family.

What's the cost again?
Pais is a FREE apprenticeship program. All accommodation, training and food is provided. Your transportation throughout the year is also provided, but please note you must arrange and fund your own travel to and from your desired Pais location. You will also need to provide your own allowance/pocket money for personal items and social activities.
